Making pizzeria pizza in a different way!

Welcome to little chefs apron! Today we’ll make something that I am sure everyone can eat anytime….. but the twist is that we won’t be making it by hand. Of course if you don’t have what I am using, you can always do it the normal way!

My mom thought that outside bread is filled with preservatives and we can always taste how chemically it is made. So we decided to get a bread maker and make bread at home. All we have to do is add the ingredients and the bread is ready in a few hours. But the interesting part is that the GLENN bread maker has a lot of other features. It can knead the dough and it will rise properly, you can make jams, and many more things! So let’s get started!

Serving: makes 4 good size pizzas

Kneading time: 10 minutes

Rising time: whatever is convenient for you but overnight would be best. Or else, one hour would also work great.

Ingredients:

3 1/2 cup all purpose flour

1 1/4 cup lukewarm water

1 tsp yeast

2 tbsp sugar

2 tsp salt

2 tbsp oil

Directions:

. First, add lukewarm water to the bread container and make sure you have attached the kneader.

. Then sieve the flour once as it makes the dough more fluffy and light. His is a tile for any dough you are making. Then add it to the container

. Now, add salt in the sides so it doesn’t come in direct contact with the yeast. Also add in the oil and the sugar around the centre. Now, add yeast right in the middle .

. Place the container inside the maker and select the dough option. Make sure not to let it be on bread or else instead of a risen dough you would get a baked bread!

If you think that the dough is too liquid or dry you can always adjust it by pausing the process.

This is how it would look when it starts the process and when it is done with the rising process.

The sauce and the baking process:

Ingredients:

4 red tomatoes

5-6 cloves garlic

2 tsp chilli sauce

Ice cold water

Vegetable of your choice

Corn flakes

Salt and seasonings of your choice( oregano and chilli flakes)

Grated mozzarella cheese

Directions:

Cut the tomatoes from the top and make a slit a the bottom.

. Then, let water come to a boil in a pan. Add the tomatoes and cover and cook for 5 minutes. Then, flip it and cook again until the skin starts coming out on its own.

. Immediately place these in ice cold water . This helps to retain its red colour. Once cooled down a little, purée them and keep aside.

. In a pan, add a tsp of oil, and fry the garlic. Then, add the tomatoes and cook until the colour changes to a reddish orange.

Then, add the chilli sauce, salt and seasonings to your taste.keep it aside.

. Now, divide the dough into two 4 parts and work with one at a time. Dust some flour and roll with a rolling pin. It doesn’t have to be a perfect circle which is what makes it resemble to a pizzeria.

. Crush some corn flakes and sprinkle it on the baking tray . Don’t use flour as it gives a raw taste when you take a bite. These give a little crisp taste and also don’t allow the pizza to stick to the tray.

. Now, add the base on the tray and apply sauce. Place some cheese and the vegetables of your choice.

Bake it in a pre heated oven at 180* for 15-20 minutes. Remove it into a serving plate and garnish with either olives/basil!

If you want to make it by hand……

If you want to make it the classic way then everything remains the same except for the kneading part. And yeast to water and the sugar mixture. Add this to the salt and flour mixture. Combine it all together and then add it to a board. Keep adding oil into the dough while you knead it. Make sure that the dough springs back when you touch it and cover it with a damp cloth for the rising process.
