Welcome to Little Chef’s festival! Hello everyone. As you might know, tomorrow is lohri, Punjab’s harvest festival. And being a punjabi, we are celebrating this festival with all the treats and sweets. This recipe is very easy to make and very minimal ingredients are required.
Ingredients:
1 cup aatta / wheat flour
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup ghee/ clarified butter
3 tbsp nuts( almonds, cashews, pistachios)
1 tsp cardamom powder/elaichi
Directions:
.First, powder the sugar and chop the nuts and keep it aside.

. Now, add ghee to a pan. Make sure that you save some ghee for later. Mostly about 2 tbsp or so.

. Then, as the ghee melts, add the wheat flour. Now on low flame, keep stirring .

. Until the mixture turns a little brown and the raw smell of the flour is gone, you need to stir the mixture. Also add in the nuts .

Then remove it from the flame and keep stirring until the roasted mixture is little cooled down. If you leave it without stirring then it would burn because the pan is still very hot.
. Then, add in the sugar and the sugar would melt a little because of the warmth of the flour. Also add the cardamom.

. Mix this well and see if the mixture is binding and holding its shape. If not, then add a tsp of ghee at a time until it comes together like this.

. Shape them into any size that you would like and garnish with chopped nuts.

I hope you guys liked this recipe and do let me know in the comments! Also let me know for any suggestions, requests or doubts that you have and HAPPY LOHRI!

God bless
