Chocolate parfait:French dessert

Welcome to little chefs apron! Today we’ll make something that is a very delicious dessert. It is made from various things and it can be made from a lot of flavours but I am using chocolate. The interesting part is that it has many layers and all of them contribute to a great taste.

The cake:

Ingredients:

½ cup all purpose flour

4 tbsp refined oil

1/3 cup granulated sugar

½ tsp vanilla essence

2 tbsp cocoa powder

½ tsp baking powder

¼ tsp baking soda

Milk as required

2 tbsp curd

Directions:

First add the oil and sugar to a bowl and beat it well. This is where the air is mixed into the batter. Add the essence and also mix it well.

Now, add in the curd and whisk it until it is completely mixed and fluffy. Place a sieve onto the bowl and add the dry ingredients.

Add the flour, baking powder and soda , cocoa powder and sieve it well.

Then gently fold in the ingredients into the wet ingredients and add milk as needed to make a smooth batter.

Pre heat the oven to 180⁰ C for 10 minutes and grease any tin available with oil and flour. Pour the batter in and bake it at 180 ⁰C for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

The pudding:

2 tbsp cocoa powder

2 tbsp corn flour

2 cups milk

2 tbsp sugar

1 tsp butter( optional )

Directions:

First in a pan add the corn flour, sugar and cocoa powder and give it a whisk so that no lumps are there.

Then slowly add the milk and make a lump free mixture. Now switch on the stove and keep mixing till it thickens.

If you are using butter then add it now. Butter is just for the gloss and to make it shiny. It does not add any extra flavour.

Remove it from the stove and let it cool down.

The cream custard:

Ingredients:

¼ cup fresh cream( you could also use heavy cream)

½ cup milk

2 tbsp sugar

1 tbsp cornflour

Directions:

First, add the cream and milk to a pan and mix it well. Then dissolve in the sugar and put it on the stove. As soon as the bubbles start coming and he mixture starts to simmer, in another bowl add the cornflour and a tsp or two of some milk. Mix it well and add to the cream mixture.

Then when it starts to thicken remove it from the stove.

The assembly:

1 packet of any biscuits.

1 tbsp chocolate syrup

Directions:

First crush some biscuits and take the glasses in which you want to serve the parfait.

Then with the help of the open end of the glass make impressions on the cooled and de moulded cake.

Now, you can follow any order that you like. This is the order I m following :

Biscuits

Cake

Pudding

Cream custard

If you are taking a bigger glass than mine then you can just repeat all the layers.

I hope you guys liked this recipe and do let me know in the comments about your thoughts. Also feel free to let me know about any requests or suggestions that you have.
