Welcome to little chefs apron! Today we will make something that I have never tried before. They were delicious and I think you should give them a try! They hardly require ingredients and are a healthy version of the actual ones.
Hasselback potatoes
Ingredients:
4 medium sized potatoes
¼ cup butter
3-4 cloves garlic
Seasonings of your choice(thyme,rosemary,all purpose,salt,pepper)
Grated cheese(optional)
2 tbsp oil
Directions:
First, peel the potatoes and you can leave out some too. If you want you can use washed, unpeeled potatoes too.
Then, cut thin slices of the potato making sure that you are not cutting all the way to the end.

Now, add butter and oil to a pan and let it to melt. Crush some garlic with the back of the knife just like this and add it in.

Also add in the thyme and the rosemary and cook slightly. Make sure that it is not over boiled or else the butter may burn in the oven
Now, strain them so only the flavour of the seasonings and garlic is in the butter.

Place these potatoes on a greased baking tray and brush a generous amount of the cooked butter.

Sprinkle some seasonings like salt and pepper and bake them in a pre heated oven at 200°C for 20 minutes. Then when that is done, sprinkle some cheese in between the slices of the potatoes and brush some ore of the left over butter. bake at 220°C for 20 minutes or until the edges are crispy and the potatoes are cooked well.

Once they are done, transfer them to a serving plate and garnish with some mayonnaise and parsley! Enjoy!
If you would like to eat it the authentic way, instead of baking them, you can fry them in medium hot oil. Also if you want you can insert a skewer stick through the whole potato and then bake or fry them.
